OHEKA CASTLE WEDDING, ALEXIS + SHANE
Celebration: Alexis + Shanes Wedding at Oheka Castle
Event Planning + Design: Karyn Michael Events
Number of Guests: 200
As Seen In: Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Hamptons Magazine, The Travel Channel + Carats and Cake
Highlights: In the months leading up to their wedding, Alexis and Shane were immersed in studying for their medical board exams, leaving little time for wedding planning. Fortunately, KME had the pleasure of collaborating with Alexis' parents, Michelle and Spencer, who live in Northern California. Spencer brought his Japanese heritage to life in beautiful ways, most notably by hand-folding 1,000 origami cranes—an enduring symbol of luck and prosperity for the newlyweds. These delicate paper cranes were strung from a magnificent 12-foot tree in the ballroom, creating a stunning and meaningful centerpiece.
Outside, the water gardens of Oheka Castle were framed by blooming pink cherry blossoms, providing a breathtaking backdrop as Alexis and Shane exchanged their vows. In a touching moment, Spencer, a talented musician, serenaded the couple for their first dance, singing and playing solo guitar.
It was a day filled with love, tradition, and unforgettable beauty—truly a reflection of the couple and their families.

One Thousand Origami Cranes
The Brides Father folded one thousand origami cranes as a way to bestow blessings for a long, harmonious marriage. The cranes were strung from a tree in the main ballroom.

The Wedding Flowers
Opulent crystal chandeliers encrusted in various shades of pink roses and white hydrangea were designed as centerpieces on half of the tables, and complimentary low centerpieces were displayed on the other half of the guest tables.

The Wedding Stationery
Rounded corner, letterpressed menus, wrapped in ivory silk napkins, were printed with the bride and grooms names at the top in gold, and the dinner options in black, there was one arranged at every guest place setting.

The Lighting Design
The walls were washed in a subtle amber glow, highlighting each pillar in the Terrace Ballroom, while Pinspots lights enhanced the table centerpieces.

The Wedding Recpetion Entertainment
There is no better feeling at a wedding reception than a packed dance floor and this one was packed all night long.
