Her design perspective has been shaped by years spent exploring Europe’s grand hotels, historic estates, coastal villas, and celebrated hospitality destinations. Drawing inspiration from the art, architecture, and service philosophies of the world’s finest properties, her celebrations blend thoughtful design, seamless execution, and an unwavering focus on the guest experience.

A recipient of the Five Star Diamond Award from The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, Karyn’s work has been featured in leading wedding and luxury lifestyle publications around the world.

Known for his calm presence, sharp attention to detail, and ability to think on his feet, Matthew brings both confidence and composure to every event he leads.

A graduate of Hofstra University, his background in hospitality and event management was further shaped through studies in Italy, where he developed a deeper appreciation for European design, culture, and guest experience. Fluent in both English and Italian, he brings a thoughtful international perspective to the celebrations he helps create.

Composed, measured, and highly intuitive, Matthew has become an invaluable part of the Karyn Michael Events experience, helping ensure each celebration unfolds with warmth, precision, and seamless execution.

Our story

Karyn Michael Events was founded in 2006 by Creative Director Karyn LoCicero. As our team has grown, so has our ability to support events of increasing complexity while maintaining a highly personalized experience. Every planner, designer, and production partner we work with shares a unified standard, one rooted in intention, consistency, and an uncompromising attention to detail.

Lead Planner Matthew Santangelo has worked alongside Karyn for over five years, developing a deep understanding of the planning and design process from the inside out. Over time, his experience and leadership skills have naturally evolved, and he now leads his own team within the company.

Our support team Hailey, Nina, and Kari-An are the foundation behind every event we execute. Each plays a pivotal role in ensuring every detail is handled with care, precision, and consistency.

We take on a limited number of events each year not as a constraint, but as a commitment to remain fully present, deeply involved, and entirely focused on the experience we are creating for each client.

We approach every event with the same philosophy we started with: thoughtful design, careful execution, and a genuine commitment to excellence.

At Karyn Michael Events, every celebration begins with a clear vision and a thoughtful plan to bring it to life. We guide our clients through each stage of the process, from initial concept and design development to logistics, production, and day-of execution ensuring that every detail is considered and every decision feels intentional.

Our approach is highly collaborative, but also deeply proactive. We anticipate needs before they arise, manage complexities behind the scenes, and create a planning experience that feels seamless from start to finish.

With longstanding relationships at many of the region’s most sought-after venues and vendors, we’re able to navigate each event with both creativity and efficiency, allowing our clients to feel confident, supported, and fully present throughout their celebration.
